Dear San Felipe de Neri Families,
Retiring Staff
As we come to the close of our special school year, I would like to acknowledge two staff members who will be retiring and will be continuing their personal journeys in other ways. Mrs. Naranjo, our second grade teacher has decided to spend more time with her husband and extended family members. Mr. Simon Martinez, our Physical Education and Health teacher has also elected to retire and continue other pursuits in life. Our community has been blessed to have their sense of humor, their own individual expertise, and their love of children. Our prayers go with them as they continue to live their Catholic lives among their family members. We have appreciated everything you have done for our school. God watch over and bless you always!
Step Up Day
Step Up Day is May 11 from 7:55-12:55 pm; however, it is a whole day of school. All children, including newly enrolled families will meet in the gym for Morning Prayer as is our custom. We will them disperse to the next grade level after Morning Prayer. Future students will go home at 12:55 pm. Former students will return to their classrooms in preparation for the 1 pm Talent Show in the gym. The purpose of the Step Up Day is to introduce students to the next grade level expectations, to meet new friends, and to begin a transition to the next grade level. I have not hired the new sixth grade teacher so we will just need to be a little more flexible that day. We will let students know where they will be for that morning. Class assignments will be posted in the gym on the back wall.
Faith Bowl
The Faith Bowl team competed last Friday and were just wonderful! If there had been a fourth they would have taking fourth, out of 10 schools! Well done! We thank Kaitlyn Knapp, Patrick Ortiz, Marissa Dewyer, Maria Parish, Conception Guilez, and Karen Bernal. Be very proud of your impressive faith knowledge. Well done!
School Survey
The end of the year Parent Survey will be placed on-line Thursday, May 3 and will be removed May 17. Kindly take the time to respond to a few simple questions. I value your feedback and reflective thoughts. Our community is always a work in progress.
I will look forward to seeing all of you at our end of the year memory days.
Respectively,
Mrs. Nancy Suedkamp
