Dear San Felipe de Neri School Families,
Holy Week
The most holy time of year is approaching us all, the Tritiuum of the Holy Week. I pray your Lenten sacrifices have made you more aware of our Lord's love of you and your family and all the gifts He has bestowed upon us. Many Holy Thursday and Good Friday prayer services are available in all of our parishes. Adoration is organized for all of us also. Take advantage of these opportunities to help you complete your Lenten journey. Happy Easter to everyone.
Volunteer Hours
The San Felipe de Neri Parish Fiestas will be held from June 1-3, 2012. Our Parent Advisory Council and I will be initiating a new volunteer expectation for the fiestas. All families must volunteer or send someone to represent them for one three hour period of work during the fiestas or you will be charged a set fee of $75. The parish annually pays for our building insurance; the total for the parish is about $42,000. We utilize the parish's central church and on other occasions other parish property. We must do our part to assist with this enormous bill. The other volunteer hour commitment has also changed a little. 25 other volunteer hours are still expected from each family, 10 of those hours to be involved in the social needs (class parties, Christmas Plays) or fundraising (Halloween Carnival, Turkey Bingo, Booster Athletic Club, Golf Tournament) for our school. The other 15 hours may be given towa rd field trips, helping on the playground or in the cafeteria, library, or other ways. When we all help, we all benefit financially.
We also sent the present school year bills for your volunteer hours. Please give us a call if we need to help you fill in your hours on Sycamore for any service you have provided to us. We are most grateful for all the blessings of our volunteers.
Summer School
Summer School will be held from June 4-29, 2012 at a cost of $325 per child.
Summer Fun will be held from June 4-July 27, 2012 at a cost of $125 per week.
Service Project
St. Pius invited us again this year to assist with the Feed the Hungry Project. The middle school students were very grateful for the opportunity to create rice bags for those in greater need than themselves. Our hearts go out to those in need this Easter season.
May our Lord watch over and guide you during this Holy Easter season.
