Dear Parents, This year has been a great year for our students, they continue to work hard and show good citizenship. I'm glad I have had the opportunities to witness Morning Prayer and be present everyday during our lunch program. This is a valuable time for me to interact with your child as well as trouble shoot any issues they may have. I know it is extremely important for all of our students to be comfortable in going to the principal; we must always strive for a safe and secure environment. This is never accomplished by sitting in an office. I hope to continue this practice of being visible for all of our students and families. (read more....)

Dear Parents, Spring will be here shortly and our school calendar will fill up with many traditional events and activities. One of our traditions, the Father Daughter Dance was very successful and a great way for fathers to spend quality time with their daughters. Our pancake breakfast was a first and well attended by families from our school and parish. The athletic booster parent team did a great job and all proceeds go to supporting our athletic program. Dear San Felipe Families, This year is quickly speeding by. The girl?s volleyball team had a great season with many participants. Boy?s flag football continues and is doing well. Girl?s basketball has started with many new faces. We encourage all our students to participate in athletics. There is an academic component to ensure their eligibility. All athletes must have passing grades of C or better. The student grade checks are done weekly in order to encourage a student to improve their grade and become eligible. All teachers are willing to give extra help in these matters. (read more...)

I pray that you are enjoying the Summer Break.

Dear San Felipe de Neri Families,
This letter cannot convey my love of San Felipe de Neri School community. But, I would like to share some memories with you that have always touched my heart and invigorated my professional life. I arrived back in 1998 from Taos, New Mexico after having taught middle school for many years and met Sister Carmel the former principal. She had become ill and had to leave our blessed school. I became the first lay female principal at San Felipe since it opened in 1881. I used to tell people I was the new model, happily married with two great children. (read more...)

Dear San Felipe de Neri Families,
As we come to the close of our special school year, I would like to acknowledge two staff members who will be retiring and will be continuing their personal journeys in other ways. Mrs. Naranjo, our second grade teacher has decided to spend more time with her husband and extended family members. Mr. Simon Martinez, our Physical Education and Health teacher has also elected to retire and continue other pursuits in life. Our community has been blessed to have their sense of humor, their own individual expertise, and their love of children. Our prayers go with them as they continue to live their Catholic lives among their family members. We have appreciated everything you have done for our school. God watch over and bless you always! Dear San Felipe de Neri Parents,
Celebrations are everywhere lately! Congratulations to our newly baptized children and our young adults. We have even had a wedding in our community, blessed by the church. All of us join wishing you a holy journey as you continue to develop your faith filled days. We need your help to remind students that they must actively participate during our masses. They are expected to respond reverently and to sing on Sunday and during our week day masses. Talk to your child about the importance of this most holy celebration. When we attend mass together we can model for them the appropriate ways to respond. Happy Easter again! (read more...)

Dear San Felipe de Neri School Families,
The most holy time of year is approaching us all, the Tritiuum of the Holy Week. I pray your Lenten sacrifices have made you more aware of our Lord's love of you and your family and all the gifts He has bestowed upon us. Many Holy Thursday and Good Friday prayer services are available in all of our parishes. Adoration is organized for all of us also. Take advantage of these opportunities to help you complete your Lenten journey. Happy Easter to everyone. (read more....)
